Unlike most bosses in Blasphemous, this boss needs to be defeated in order to be beaten a second time. Once again, weaving through the attacks can present an opening for you to get some hits in on the boss itself. ![]() You can duck that first one, but you’ll then need to jump to dodge the second one. These always follow the format of the first Purple Missile being shot at head height, followed by further ones at feet height. The final attack of Phase 1 is Purple Missiles. It is a prime opportunity to get close and slash the boss for some hits though. ![]() You’re going to have to jump and weave through the gaps in the Elemental Orbs, only because there’s not much else you can do against this attack. They take the form of balls of fire or lightning, neither of which are good for your health pool. As I mentioned above, these can’t be blocked or parried, so you need to dodge them. Just block and parry them and you’ll be fine. They are the only attack of his that you can do this with though. These can be parried, blocked, of hit back at the boss if you do it just right. Avoiding the beam attacks is as simple as standing out of the line of the beams. The Plunging Beams attack is very similar, except Melquíades will plunge his staff into the ground and the same blue beams will appear just after he strikes, always evenly spaced apart. These beams are mostly evenly spaced apart, but this is not always the case. After a couple of seconds, the beam will widen and turn light blue, which is when it can deal damage. The beams will first appear as a thin, transparent blue beam that can be dodged through. When the Archbishop is about to perform his Heavenly Beams attack, he will close his fist. Attacking his head deals considerable damage, so the strategy is to keep attacking the arms until Melquíades falls, attack his head, and then repeat.ĭodging is effective for avoiding the Hand Grab and Staff Plunge attacks. Although attacking the arms does not affect the boss' health bar, continuously attacking them will cause the Archbishop to fall to a height where he can be attacked. After each plunge, a blue beam strikes from above.ĭuring the fight, multiple arms support Melquíades high above the platform.
